Fit Quiz ANSWERS from “Which is better for you?

1. Answer: b. Obviously, the best option would be to skip the Whopper. Being successful at reaching your health and fitness goals requires about 70 percent concentration on strict nutrition. Our bodies require a proper level of good nutrition and an even higher level if they’re worked out regularly. The other options are good to incorporate into your daily routine as well, but the nutrition choice of eliminating fast food from your diet will accelerate your results.
– Logan Stout, CPT

2. Answer: a. If you must indulge—and we all do sometimes—I would suggest having a chocolate bar as a midday snack. Consider that a 43- to 49-gram chocolate bar has between 200 and 300 calories (mostly fat and simple sugars). You’re having this snack at a time of day when you might be able to do some activity to offset that indulgence, and maybe there’s some nutritional value in that snack coming from nuts that may or may not be part of your favorite bar.
– Stéphane Cova, Certification Director, Can-Fit-Pro

3. Answer: d. Skipping work to see your girlfriend isn’t so bad—especially if it involves a fun one-on-one workout. But, bar none, skipping workouts is the real reason you haven’t achieved an amazing physique. The question isn’t which is worse for you but which can you afford to miss. The answer: Your girl may forgive you if you show up with abs. Hit the gym on your way home to her—even if you’re late, she’ll gladly let you in, looking as only you can look.
– Robert Belley, NASM-CPT, IYCA-YCS1

4. Answer: b. All options are great, but a 30-minute workout hitting the weights is your best option. When you’re pressed for time, a full-body workout can also deliver great results for muscle gain and fat loss. Full-body workouts turn on muscle-building and fat-burning hormones better than anything and keep you burning fat for 24 to 48 hours, according to recent studies.
– Jimmy Smith, CSCS

5. Answer: b. No alcohol at a bar is like a gym without weights. Get it over with and have three shots. Shots have fewer calories than beer with the same buzz. Drink plenty of water afterwards and wake up to see a smile on your face—and hers. Be careful because more than three drinks can exceed the legal alcohol limit.
– Michael Seril, MS
